BLUE LABEL
According to EN12195-2, all PES (polyester) load securing elements must be labelled in blue. The label provides information about the physical characteristics of the fixing device and also provides traceability: when, by whom and where it was manufactured. If the label becomes detached or the information content is lost, the device can no longer be used. Traceability is still ensured, as the label has a hidden part sewn into the material of the strap.Accordingly, strict requirements apply to the content of the visible and hidden parts of the label.

DOWNLOADABLE PART

GS/TÜV certification
Cargo tie-down straps are not required to be TÜV tested, but this is a confidence-building factor. However, the GS/TÜV logo alone is worthless if it is not accompanied by the certificate number.

Maximum elongation factor
< 7%

SHF (standard hand force)
The force applied to the ratchet by hand (50daN = ~50kg).

STF (standard tension force)
The tension force generated in the strap after the ratchet has been tightened and released with the prescribed force.

Clamping capacity (LC)
The maximum tensile force the spanifer is designed to safely withstand. In addition to the tractive force, manufacturers often indicate the anchorage force, which is the downward force exerted on the load being pulled through.

Length
Length of the anchor strap in metres.

Serial number
A series of marks that provide traceability of production, clearly identifying who the product was made for and when.

Year of production

Warning
The load securing strap can only be used for securing, not for lifting!

WHITE ADDRESS
When load securing straps are sold, they must be accompanied by instructions for use in accordance with EN12195-2. This is the purpose of the white label:

– Before each use, check that — the strap is undamaged.
– Only spanifers marked with a complete blue label may be used.
– Only damage-resistant webbing, deformation- and corrosion-resistant ratchets and hooks may be used for load anchoring.
– To protect the load and the harness, the use of edge protection is mandatory.
– The polyester-based strap can be used in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +120°C.
– When fastening, the strap should not become knotted or twisted.
– The ratchet should not be overloaded and should be operated with a maximum of the prescribed manual force.
